The Loan Company Team

The Loan Company team includes two General Partners and their truly seasoned staff of real estate finance professionals. Uniquely, all the principals are investors themselves, and accordingly have a strong interest in the performance and integrity of the Partnership.

bullet Leadership

The Loan Company is led by the President, John Lloyd, and the Chief Financial Officer, Laurie Dunlop along with a well trained and experienced staff. Both John and Laurie are General Partners through ownership in Corporate GP (General Partner). Steve Dillaway, Founder and General Partner, is retired from operations, but active as a director of Corporate GP and serves in an advisory capacity to The Loan Company as needed. The General Partner is the Advocate for the limited partners and the guardian of their assets.

The management team meets with a committee of Limited Partners on a quarterly basis who serve in an advisory capacity. This measure of accountability demonstrates our commitment to the highest degree of integrity and efficacy possible.


John Lloyd is President and a General Partner through ownership in Corporate GP. John received a BS in accounting from the University of Montana, an MBA in finance, and graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. John spent over 12 years in commercial real estate lending at two regional banks, has served as CFO for a real estate developer as well as CEO of a private money lender, and has owned and operated a commercial real estate mortgage company. Hired May of 2006.
Elizabeth Elizebeth Poe - Controller. Elizebeth is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and has an MBA from Wayne State University with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. Elizebeth received a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. Elizebeth is responsible for the accounting department, financial statements, loan servicing and investor relations.

Hired June of 2007.

Kaizad Najmi Allan Paranada - Loan Originator/Underwriter. Allan received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business from Cal Poly Pomona with a concentration in Finance, Real Estate, and Law. He started his career in banking in 1995 as a personal banking officer with a leading national diversified financial services company. Since that time he has held a number of client advisory positions in the financial industry. Prior to joining The Loan Company, Allan was a Portfolio Manager for a locally based bank where he underwrote and managed a portfolio of business clients with revenues of up to $25MM and private banking clients with $10MM in investment assets. Allan joined The Loan Company in October 2015.
Darcy Darcy Peters - Loan Processor and assistant to the President. Darcy is a graduate of San Diego State University, magna cum laude. She is responsible for all loan processing, she assists in other loan servicing functions, and she is a Notary Public. Hired January of 2007.
Teri King Teri King - Loan Servicing/Office Administration. Teri has over 35 years of banking experience including loan processing, loan servicing, loan documentation, appraisal reviews and loan compliance. Hired September of 2014.
Geno Geno Altiery - Loan Administration and Servicing. Geno has over 25 years experience in loan servicing and quality control. He is responsible for documenting all loans and assists in other loan servicing functions. Hired January of 2008.
Ana Mendoza Ana Mendoza is a Loan Processor/Loan Administrator Assistant. Ana is a graduate of San Diego State University with experience in residential real estate marketing. Ana is responsible for assisting the Loan Processor and Loan Administrator in variety of responsibilities as well as assisting the President in marketing related functions. Hired August of 2015.
Ana Mendoza Shannon Hughes - Staff Accountant and Human Resources.  Shannon has over 20 years accounting & human resources experience. She is responsible for HR management and assists with loan servicing and investor relations. Hired July of 2016.
  Angela Kasten - Assistant Controller. Angela graduated from the University of Washington and is a Certified Public Accountant. Angela’s over 25 years of accounting and finance experience includes working as the CFO for a multi-golf course owner and more recently as consulting Controller for small businesses. Hired September of 2017..
Steve Steve Dillaway is an attorney (USD Law School, 1971, cum laude), real estate broker, and inactive CPA who has lived in San Diego since 1969. Steve retired from the day to day operations as of 1/1/14. However, Steve continues as General Partner in a shared position with Corporate GP and is also a member of the Limited Partner Advisory Committee. Steve's enthusiasm for the Partnership is demonstrated by the fact that he and his family collectively are the largest single investor in the Partnership.
